The house was originally a one room cabin built in the late 1800's (which is now the kitchen area).  Harrison A. Thomas purchased the property in the early 1900's and built a two-story addition onto the cabin.  in 1911, he opened the home as a boarding house.  The original well-house is still standing just outside the kitchen.
